Bryan has worked in outpatient physical therapy for twenty years. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson University. He specializes in all orthopedic physical therapy including treating vestibular / balance, neurological conditions, pain management, workers' compensation and work injuries - getting patients back to work as quickly as possible.

Dr. Schabelman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Wharton School of Business. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland and is board-certified in Emergency Medicine. Dr. Schabelman has been honored as Becker’s Healthcare 110 Chief Medical Officers to Know and the Maryland Daily Record's Physician of the Year as well as being repeatedly selected one of Baltimore Magazine’s Top Doctors. When not working, Dr. Schabelman enjoys traveling with his lovely wife and two daughters.
Owner; Chief Operating Officer
Bill has history of practice development success with a specialty focus on employee health and advanced work rehabilitation. He has designed and implemented effective risk management and safety programs in a wide variety of settings across the United States over a 27+ year career. Bill earned a Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, a Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Rowan University. Professional memberships include the American Physical Therapy Association, Delaware Physical Therapy Association, Maryland Physical Therapy Association, and the American Board of Disability Analysts. Bill was appointed and served a 3 year term as a professional member of the State of Delaware Examining Board of Physical Therapy. While serving this term, he had the honor of representing the State of Delaware with the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy. Bill’s professional pursuits have a strong foundation in the employment protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). In keeping with his passion for this civil rights law, he is credentialed as a Senior Disability Analyst and holds multiple certifications and training in functional capacity evaluation, employment testing, job analysis, and work risk analysis. His past work includes the management of the federal ADA eligibility testing program for the 5th largest transit system in the United States, serving over 4 million citizens.
Bill is an Advisory Board member for the Rohrer College of Business at Rowan University and active in local community service as a member of The Monday Club in Wilmington, Delaware.
Director of Operations
Brent Swartz is a graduate of Temple University with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management. He is Innovative's jack of all trades handling everything from patient scheduling to billing and insurance authorizations. Brent has an extensive background in customer service and enjoys interacting with our patients.
Office Manager
Michelle joined us in 2020 and is an integral part of our administration team. She works closely with our clinical directors, patients and referral partners in Harford County. Michelle spent last 19 years in the Property & Casualty insurance industry, where underwriting and customer service were forefront responsibilities. We are lucky to have her!
Business Development Manager & Social Media Marketer
Barbara is from Brazil and graduated from Towson University, MD with a degree in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing. She has been living in the US for 7+ years and she enjoys meeting new people, learning new cultures and spend time with her dog. Barbara serves as our dedicated case manager, working closely with attorney's offices to provide personalized support and guidance throughout their interactions with our organization. Barbara is also responsible for our social media and website, she maintains and manage our website from creating new pages to responding to user queries, she plays a crucial role in our online presence.
Business Development Manager & Physical Therapist Assistant
Earl is originally from Fort Riley, Kansas and graduated from Stevenson University and Carroll Community College. Earl said he truly believes in the Innovative PT message and what we stand for as for the patients we serve. He thinks that when he is out and about marketing for our brand they truly don’t have the best unless it’s with Innovative Healthcare. He motivates people based on their why? What keeps them up at night, why do they get out of bed? How badly do they want to get back to their daily life? And what motivates him is being able to uplift others to a better place when he meets them.
Earl loves to play & watch sports, travel, big foodie, and likes to be outside with nature. A fun fact about him is that he has two careers, the other being financial planning. He said that doesn’t seem so fun but it’s fun for him to put someone in a better position than they thought they would ever be in.
Case Manager
Renata Bassetto is a dynamic professional with a background in Business Administration from Brazil, where she graduated. Additionally, she holds an Associates in Liberal Studies, showcasing her diverse skill set and commitment to continuous learning. Having resided in the United States for six years, Renata brings a global perspective to her role as Case Manager Assistant at Innovative. She ensures that the law offices stay current with patient records, updates and serves as the primary point of contact for addressing any patient requests. Her international background, combined with her dedication to professional excellence, makes her a valuable contributor to the Innovative team. Outside of work Renata loves to stay active, hiking and spending time outdoors with her dog.
Physical Therapist, Director - Abingdon
Brenda completed both her undergrad and doctorate degrees at Boston University. She was raised in Carroll County, Maryland and has been a Baltimore resident for 8 years. She started her career at The Johns Hopkins hospital working with a large array of patients from post op orthopedics, intensive care, chronic illness, and neurological disorders.
Physical Therapist, Director - Baltimore
Cecily is a Harford County native who graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Neumann University and Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Arcadia University. Her passion to optimize function and reduce pain with an individualized approach using manual therapy techniques and her certifications in FMS and FCS. Outside of work Cecily loves to stay active, cheer on the Ravens, spend time outdoors with her boyfriend and their 3 dogs - Natty, Boh, and Stella.
Physical Therapist, Director - Fort Washington
Shannon is the Director of our Fort Washington center. She has over ten years of experience as a physical therapist. If you have a musculoskeletal injury or movement dysfunction, and are referred to physical therapy, we can help decrease pain and improve mobility. Your symptoms may be mild, or you may have symptoms that severely limit your functional mobility.
Physical Therapist, Director - Rosedale
Erin received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina and her doctorate degree from Neumann University. She started her career in the outpatient setting and enjoys working with all patients to help improve their quality of life and get them back to the activities they love. Outside of work, Erin loves to run, hike and go to the beach with her husband, Jamie and dog, Layla.
Physical Therapist, Director - Silver Spring
Dr. Jennifer Hine has been working as a licensed physical therapist since 1995. In 1991, she graduated from George Washington University with a B.S. degree in Kinesiology. She continued her education at The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, where she received her Master's Degree in Physical Therapy (MPT) and a B.S. in Health Sciences.
Her work experience includes one year (1995) at Suburban Hospital in acute care and outpatient physical therapy. In 1996, she began working for Metro Orthopedics & Sports Therapy (M.O. S. T).
In 2015, while practicing and managing her outpatient clinic, she attained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from the College of St. Scholastica. Dr. Hine is currently furthering her professional education and seeking a manual therapy certification from The North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).
Dr. Hine enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, and her pastime activities include running, biking, soccer, Adventure Racing and fencing.
Physical Therapist Director - Aberdeen
Robert is the Director of our Aberdeen center. He is from Harford County, Maryland, and he graduated from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Robert decided to become a PT because he believes being able to actively aid in improving an individuals' quality of life is one of the most rewarding occupations that one could ask for. He said that "motivation is accomplished primarily by showing progress, and providing a strong patient education aspect to treatment. Knowledge is power, and the better we can rationalize why we are doing something, the quicker buy in will occur."
Robert was an athletic trainer on the division I level and some isolated jobs at the NFL level earlier in his career. He enjoys performing research efforts in his free time, with his colleague at Towson University. He also enjoys teaching sports performance and therapeutic exercise for Towson University's Athletic Training Program. Robert loves his family, so doing anything with them is his greatest gift in life.
Physical Therapist - Silver Spring
Ingrid graduated from Drexel University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. In 2021, she became a board-certified Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Clinical Specialist and worked in the Acute Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation settings for 5 years prior to transitioning to out-patient Orthopedics in 2021. She finally arrived at Innovative Physical Therapy after working in Industrial Rehabilitation for one year.
Physical Therapist - Silver Spring
Calvin completed undergrad in 2019 where he graduated with a bachelors in Wellness with an emphasis in Fitness before continuing on to graduate from the DPT program at Andrews University in Michigan in August 2022. Originally from FL, Calvin bounced around the east coast until arriving in Maryland in 2022 where he began working for Innovative in Silver Spring. What drew Calvin to PT was the beauty of its versatility while maintaining simplicity in healthcare. A Physical therapist is able to treat a variety of patients with the simple goal of improving function for an individual's everyday life. This can range from getting patients to return to high level sports all the way to helping patients to stand and walk on their own again without fear of falling. Outside of work Calvin enjoys spending time with family hiking, rock climbing and snowboarding, but you may also find him tucked away in a Barns & Nobles or wandering through the Lego aisle of your local Target. Besides teaching exercises in physical therapy, Calvin also teaches cello to beginners students with the lofty goals of eventually creating a small music school with his wife, a fellow DPT.
Physical Therapist - Abingdon
VictoriaI attended Arcadia University, where she completed both her undergraduate studies and physical therapy school, graduating in 2018. Her passion for becoming a physical therapist stems from a desire to empower people to achieve their personal goals and to do what matters most to them. She likes to spend her free time playing with her 2 cats and enjoying cozy nights watching TV with her husband. She also enjoys hiking, traveling, and baking.
Physical Therapist - Dover and Milford, DE
Mike is a compassionate and driven individual with a diverse background that has shaped his life and career. Born in Chicago, he spent his formative years in California as part of a military family, where his father served in the Navy. This upbringing instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and dedication.
Throughout his 26 years of marriage, Mike has been a devoted husband and a loving father to his two sons, who are now 22 and 18 years old. His commitment to family extends beyond the home, as he actively participates in their lives and supports their endeavors. Apart from his family, Mike's passion lies in sports and physical fitness. He not only plays basketball but also coaches others, sharing his expertise and encouraging others to lead an active lifestyle. He complements his love for sports with a disciplined workout routine, focusing on weight training and restorative yoga to maintain overall wellness.
Professionally, Mike has a commendable 27-year career as a physical therapist. Over the years, he has accumulated extensive experience in various specialized areas, including orthopedics, gerontology, lymphedema, vertigo, balance, and motor vehicle and work-related injuries, as well as sports injuries. His commitment to improving people's lives through his therapeutic skills has earned him a reputation as a trusted and skilled therapist. Beyond his professional achievements, Mike also finds time to give back to the community. Over the years he has participated with various organizations, such as the Breast Cancer Coalition and the American Heart Association, where he contributes his expertise and support to meaningful causes. Additionally, he has volunteered at local soup kitchens and food banks, showing his dedication to helping those in need within his community.
Mike's generosity is not confined to his local community; he is also involved in fundraising efforts for global causes. He has organized fundraisers to aid typhoon victims in the Philippines, demonstrating his willingness to make a positive impact on a global scale.

General Neurologist
Steven Strauss is a neurologist who received his PhD in Linguistics and was a professor of Linguistics at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following completion of his neurology residency at the University of Maryland, he stayed on for four years as an Assistant Professor of Neurology. He has a special interest treating language problems in patients with disorders of the brain, including traumatic brain injury. He devotes a substantial part of his work time seeing individuals with concussions and other traumatic brain injuries for Innovative Healthcare Centers.
Physician Assistant
Ann is a physician assistant who provides medical care to our physical therapy patients. Ann grew up in Harford County and enjoys working in the community where she grew up. She earned her Bachelors of Science in biology with pre-medicine, and earned her Masters Degree in physician assistant studies at Towson University and CCBC Essex respectively. Ann is also an emergency room PA working at a local hospital for the past 14 years. When not providing medical care to her patients, you can find Ann hiking and exploring with her husband, 2 children and dog.
Physician Assistant
Sarah provides medical care to our physical therapy patients. Sarah was born and raised in Harford County, and has enjoyed returning to her hometown. She attended Penn State University where she obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Biology. Following her undergraduate degree she pursued her Masters in Physician Assistant studies, graduating from the Towson/CCBC Essex program in 2011. She has also worked at a local Emergency Department for the past 9 years. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and dogs.
Physician Assistant
Jeff is a physician assistant who provides medical care to our physical therapy patients. Jeff grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia before moving to Maryland to attend Towson University and AACC, where he obtained his undergraduate degree and physician assistant certificate respectively. While in PA school he also obtained a Master of Medical Science degree from St Francis University. Jeff has been an emergency room PA in Baltimore for 10 years, while also holding adjunct professorship in several local physician assistant training programs. When he isn’t treating his patients or educating his students, Jeff enjoys gardening, snowboarding, and playing various musical instruments.

Bill is a physician assistant who provides medical care to our physical therapy, car accident and work injury patients. Bill earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences at Loyola College in Baltimore and a Masters of Sciences from Towson State University. Bill earned his physician assistant certification at Essex community College and his Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska. Bill is also a surgical and emergency room PA and has worked in local hospitals for the past 20 years. When not providing medical care for his patients, you can find Bill bicycling or watching the Ravens and Orioles.
Physician Assistant
Lisa attended Towson University, where she obtained a bachelors of science degree in biology. Subsequently, she pursued her physician assistant studies at Drexel university, earning her degree in 2008. With over 15 years of experience, she has worked in a variety of medical settings and currently practices as an emergency medicine PA as well. When not providing medical care for patients, you can find Lisa traveling, internationally or spending time with her family and friends.

Daniel graduated from Cecil Colleg's Physical Therapy Assistant Program. He received his undergrad Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University. He is a native of Cecil County and was raised in Rising Sun, Maryland. Daniel takes great pride in assisting a wide variety of patients in their journey to correct daily functional limitations and accomplish health goals that lead to a pain-free joyful existence.
Outside of work he enjoys being an uncle, spending time with family, time in nature (hiking, biking, trail running, kayaking, fishing). He's always up for a beach trip, a good book or podcast, traveling to visit friends, Ravens & WVU football, coaching wrestling, and most definitely eating delicious body/mind nourishing foods such as grass-fed Ribeye steaks!
Physical Therapist Assistant - Rosedale
Caitlin is from Baltimore County, MD. She graduated from Howard Community College's PTA program. Her interest in physical therapy began in 2017 after her mom suffered a spinal cord injury. Ever since Caitlin wanted to give that gift back to others. She says that Physical therapy is such a rewarding field and she is looking forward to helping others reach their goals. She tries to motivate patients by finding the things they love to do or want to do and finding ways to incorporate that into their sessions. She wants patients to love coming to PT as much as she loves coming to work. Caitlin is motivated by the creativity this field offers. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends. She also love traveling, exercising, cooking, and reading books.
Physical Therapist Assistant - Abingdon
Taylor is from Cecil County where she graduated from Cecil College's PTA program this spring and moved to Harford county this summer. She grew up playing every sport possible and continue to play in pick up volleyball and basketball leagues in Baltimore. She fell in love with physical therapy because it combined her love of fitness and wellness with her passion to help people feel as good as they can while doing the things they love. In Taylor's free time she loves to hike, work out, read, go see any new movie and spend as much time as possible outside.
Physical Therapist Technician - Fort Washington
Xavia is a native of Prince George's County and graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. Xavia decided to become a tech because it allowed her to work within her future career field of becoming a physical therapist. She said that being a tech allows her to learn from a variety of physical therapists on how to treat and care for patients.
Xavia loves to motivate patients through laughter and talk of future activities. Always keeping their mind on their goal and broadening their horizon on other activities/possibilities once PT is completed. Creating a memorable life journey is what motivates her. She looks at different stages of life as a learning experience and what lessons can be applied to future endeavors in order to reach her end goal and surpass it. She also loves to dance and music and the fun fact about her, she choreographs and teaches dance for different counties and programs in MD. She studied dance from the age of 3 and mainly teaches hip-hop, tap, and contemporary.
